I. The 4/2 Tradition Continues

Many people who know me know that April 2nd (i.e., 4/2) is a special day for me. I chopped off my first ponytail on 4/2 (2012) and then a pandemic ponytail 10 years later on 4/2 (2022). I incorporated my previous startup business on 4/2 (2015), and I’ve provided Symphony42 updates here on LinkedIn on 4/2/2022, 4/2/2023, and 4/2/2024. Today marks our FOURTH annual update, and what a wild and crazy trip it’s been.

Upon reflection, it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come since that initial announcement in 2022. What began as a bold vision to harness the power of Conversational AI for Lead Gen has evolved into a sophisticated platform that’s redefining the very essence of how businesses connect with consumers.

We’ve dreamed. We’ve imagined. We’ve pushed boundaries, challenged conventions, and dared to build a future where LLMs are not just a new tech tool, but a literal partner in crafting “Delightful Dance”™ personalized consumer experiences at scale using autonomous and persuasive AI Agents.

As we stand at the threshold of a fantastic new era in AI-driven consumer engagement, I’m excited to share with you the latest developments in the Symphony42 startup story. We’re at a pivotal moment in the AI Agent revolution – a time when production-ready AI agents are transforming from science-fiction into science-fact – transforming into everyday business reality. The speed of development and advancement has been breathtaking – I have never seen anything like it in 30-years as an Internet entrepreneur – and Symphony42 is right at the center of it all.

II. The Fundraising Journey: Proving the Early Investors RIGHT :-)

One of the things I’m most proud of is the incredible roster of Pre-Seed investors who believed in Symphony42 before we had a single dollar of revenue. A very special shout-out and thank you to: Robert Glazer, Greg Cangialosi, John Akkara, Pete Kim, Ross Shanken, Sam Melamed, Sean Hanlon, Stein Kretsinger, Sumeet Goel, Joeri Weyenberg, David Galper, Mark Drever, Steven Freidkin, Jeffrey Rosen, Jason Schneider, Omar Shallah, Grant Mowat, Jalmar Dijkstra, Mick Dubea, Jordan Beeman, Sally Hurley, Doug Lebda, Sid Banerjee, and Jim Rowan.

I’m equally grateful to our SAFE investors who stepped in to bridge us to a VC Seed round, including: Jerry Neumann, Sam Melamed (2nd investment), Matt Keiser, Charles McCusker, Charles Bryan, John Giordano, Ajay Batish, and Jay Weintraub.

As earliest-stage investors, their faith in our vision during a critical growth phase has been instrumental in helping us reach our recent milestones.

Our Board continues to provide invaluable guidance and support. In particular, I want to recognize Dave Blundin for his unparalleled AI expertise and strategic vision, Ross Shanken for his deep industry knowledge and connections, and Stein Kretsinger for his sage advice on scaling and Customer Acquisition strategies. Since 2022, our Pre-Seed and SAFE investors saw Symphony42’s potential early on. Now, in 2025, as we’ve hit milestone after milestone, we’ve been methodically validating their belief and turning their early faith into demonstrable results.

In 2024, we hit the Seed round fundraising trail, meeting with dozens of VC funds on both coasts to secure our Seed round. The feedback was directionally consistent and music to our ears:

The team and Board? Loved ✓
Agentic AI for Persuasion and Customer Acquisition? “A revolution we want to back” ✓
Capital-efficient strategy and champion/challenger methodology? Two big thumbs up ✓

But here’s the candid part: despite the enthusiasm, we didn’t land a term sheet. The consensus? “Too early — come back when you have more traction.” Fair enough. We did not previously hear this same feedback from the Pre-Seed and SAFE investors, but rather than being discouraged, we took the feedback as a challenge to prove what we already knew. Symphony42 is building the future of AI Customer Acquisition, and we just needed to make that future visible to others – we embraced the challenge.

So, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work. While continuing our conversations with VCs, we focused relentlessly on execution and validation. We launched our production-ready AI Voice Agent, transforming it from a prototype to a market-ready solution that consistently delights and amazes everyone who experiences it. We signed key customers across multiple verticals — from insurance and mortgage to legal and education – another bullet point checked: MULTI-VERTICAL aspect of Symphony42 AI Customer Acquisition Platform: Validated ✓

The most significant validation came in December 2024, when we achieved a pivotal milestone — our first revenue from AI Voice Agents. And not just from one offering, but from BOTH our Bundled offering AND our Platform offering. This wasn’t just symbolic, it was proof that there is immediate and growing demand for AI Agents for Customer Acquisition.

We’ve been sharing these achievements with the VCs we met last year, demonstrating our AI Voice Agent in live demos and detailing our growing customer roster. The response? Minds blown :-O Every meeting ends with excitement and requests for next steps. While we’re still in the process of securing that perfect Seed round partner, the conversations have completely transformed. We’re no longer defending the “too early” objection — we’re fielding questions about scaling and discussing potential AI talent recruiting strategies :-)

The right partner is out there, and we’re confident they’ll join us soon. In the meantime, we continue to build, grow, and validate — because ultimately, the strongest position in any fundraising journey is one backed by undeniable traction and results.

III. The “Mind-Blowing” AI Voice Agent Comes to Life

While we’ve been navigating the fundraising journey, our team has been heads-down, building something extraordinary. Our AI Voice Agent is no longer a prototype or a demo — it’s live, persuasive, and transforming Customer Acquisition in real-world deployments. When I say “mind-blowing,” I’m not exaggerating — we’ve literally seen jaws drop during demos with industry veterans who’ve “seen it all.”

What makes our AI Voice Agent so exceptional? First, the natural conversation flow is unlike anything in the market. We’ve effectively eliminated the robotic latency issues that plague many voice AI solutions. Our agent responds with human-like timing and conversational rhythm — no awkward pauses or interruptions.

Second, we’ve integrated emotional intelligence technology, enabling our agent to detect subtle emotional cues and adapt its tone and approach in real-time. The result? Conversations that feel genuinely empathetic and responsive, not scripted.

This represents a significant evolution from where we started. In 2022, we launched with text-based interactions only, leveraging the ChatGPT API for our initial SMS flows. In 2023, we expanded our text capabilities and began experimenting with voice. By 2024, we had working voice prototypes. Today, we have a fully operational, multi-modal AI Customer Acquisition platform that handles text, voice, and video/avatar interactions with unprecedented effectiveness.

We’ve also made our first foray into Video/Avatar AI with B2B custom food catering service pairing local chefs with office workers as our pioneering customer. While the Video/Avatar capability shows tremendous promise, we’re realistic about its current limitations. The voice-based offering is where we’re seeing the most immediate impact and traction, which is why we’re doubling down on scaling our voice deployments across verticals.

But we’re not stopping there. Our Champion/Challenger methodology continuously tests different LLM models (currently GPT-4o as Champion with Claude 3.7 Sonnet as Challenger) to ensure optimal performance across use cases. This is more than just A/B testing — it’s a systematic approach to identifying which models excel at different types of persuasive interactions, creating a feedback loop that continuously improves performance.

Perhaps most exciting, the Persuasion Genome Project is beginning to yield fascinating insights. Every conversation our AI Agents have with consumers generates valuable Multi-modal Behavioral Biometric Feedback Data (MMBBFD), which feeds into our proprietary dataset. This isn’t just any data — it’s real-world interactions between AI Agents and consumers with clear outcome measurements (did the conversation convert or not?). Unlike synthetically generated conversations between LLMs or legacy human-to-human sales recordings, this data provides the ground truth for what actually works in persuasive AI interactions.

The implications are enormous. We’re not just building AI agents — we’re creating a comprehensive understanding of persuasion itself, one conversation at a time. And with each interaction, our platform gets smarter, more effective, and more valuable to our customers and partners.

IV. Traction: The Market Says “Yes!”

December 2024 was a watershed moment for Symphony42 – the month we definitively proved our model works with actual revenue flowing through both our Bundled and Platform offerings. This wasn’t just symbolic progress; it was market validation that businesses are ready to embrace AI Voice Agents for customer acquisition at scale.

Our Platform Offering has secured impressive customer wins across diverse verticals:

Legal Marketing and Customer Acquisition Platform: Our first Platform revenue :-) This company is implementing a phased “Crawl, Walk, Run” approach for Motor Vehicle Accident cases, starting with state qualification and advancing toward full-funnel acquisition. Their move from qualification to persuasion demonstrates the expandable nature of our platform.

Large Publicly Traded Customer Acquisition Business: A brilliant AI Voice Agent use case – assisting consumers in comparing and choosing among multiple competing offers.

Automated HELOC Lending Platform: Adding net new capabilities. Rather than replacing humans, they’re using our AI Agents to unlock opportunities they couldn’t pursue with a human-centric model. Calls are expected to begin flowing in April, transforming inquiring consumers into funded loans.

Non-Standard Auto Insurance Carrier: A prime example of “replacing humans” use case – they’re transitioning from near shore call center agents and US-based licensed agents to our AI Voice Agents, dramatically reducing costs while improving conversion rates.

EDU Lead Gen Business: Using our platform to capture conversational EDU data in a fully TCPA-compliant way – solving both the compliance and efficiency challenges that have plagued this vertical.

B2B Food Services Marketplace: Our first Video/Avatar deployment :-) This venture-backed pioneering client demonstrates our platform’s versatility beyond B2C applications.

Meanwhile, our Bundled Offering is thriving with one of the leading Customer Acquisition businesses buying auto insurance calls in 35 states, with multiple traffic supply partners providing traffic to our AI Agents through paid media and revenue-share arrangements. The beauty of this model is that it’s infinitely scalable as we add more supply and demand partners to the ecosystem.

But what’s truly exciting is that our sales funnel literally spilleth over. We have dozens of high-quality sales prospects advancing through our pipeline – from Prototype Demo stage (a large Insurance Lead Seller, a B2B Lending Platform, and multiple Pay-per-Call Lead Generators) to High Priority status, the momentum is undeniable. If Product Market Fit can ever be measured by a sales funnel alone, this is IT :-)

What’s particularly fascinating is how our traction validates the “Dual AI Opportunity” – we’re seeing success with both “replacing humans” (lower costs, higher consistency) AND “adding net new capabilities” (tasks humans couldn’t perform at scale). This isn’t just about cost-cutting; it’s about expanding what’s possible in Customer Acquisition entirely. These complementary opportunities effectively double our TAM, as different organizations pursue AI adoption through different strategic lenses.

The market has spoken, and the verdict is clear: Symphony42’s AI Voice Agents aren’t just the future – they’re delivering measurable value today :-)

V. The Core Team: “It’s All About the People”

Personally, I believe: “It’s all about the people”

It’s a philosophy that I live by. The passion, expertise, and relentless drive that each team member – both the Founding Team and members of the Symphony42 Board – brings to the table is what fuels our success. Despite the challenges of building before raising Seed funding from VCs, we’ve assembled a world-class team of entrepreneurs and AI experts who share our vision for the future of Customer Acquisition.

What’s especially impressive is how this core team has accomplished so much while being incredibly capital-efficient. We’ve built a production-ready platform, signed multiple enterprise customers, and generated our first revenue, all before closing our Seed round. This level of execution speaks volumes about the team’s capabilities and commitment.

I am grateful beyond words to have these extraordinary individuals alongside me on this journey. Their belief in Symphony42’s vision, even during the challenging early days, has been the foundation upon which we’ve built our success. As we continue to grow and evolve, I know that maintaining our people-first philosophy will remain our greatest competitive advantage.

In October 2024, I experimented with Google’s NotebookLM to create personalized AI-generated podcasts for everyone involved with Symphony42 – from founding team members to investors and advisors. The response was tremendous, and we’ve continued generating dozens of these personalized podcasts each month since then. This creative approach to stakeholder engagement exemplifies our commitment to leveraging cutting-edge AI not just in our core product, but in how we build and nurture relationships. It’s yet another example of how we’re living our AI-first philosophy in everything we do.

One of the ways we’re driving collaboration is through our active participation in industry events and conferences. In January, I attended Lead Generation World where I connected with numerous potential partners, customers, and prospects. Many of those conversations have already translated into productive relationships and pipeline opportunities.
